CLIENT COMMENT....
“Thank you for the report; the site has clearly benefited from your input.”
OH&S
audits analyse ‘safety hardware’, whereas during the safety culture
analysis we identify the barriers (often related to people’s
perceptions, values, beliefs and behaviours regarding safety)
that may be preventing your organisation from achieving the desired
safety culture. We then provide practical and effective recommendations
to overcome any behavioural, workplace and organisational deficiencies.
An
OH&S management system (OHSMS) audit is a systematic evaluation
to establish whether OH&S activities and results conform
to planned arrangements. Your organisation’s OHSMS can be reviewed
against legislation, your own audit standard or external standards,
eg. SafetyMAP, AS4801.
Auditing is intended to be a positive process that identifies the effectiveness of implementation of the OHSMS requirements and performance gaps, and makes recommendations to improve performance and meet legal compliance, with the ultimate goal of no injuries. Audits should be used as a learning and continuous improvement exercise, in which the auditor and client management team work in partnership to ensure that OHSMS requirements are effectively implemented.

When
incidents occur in the workplace it is essential to understand
the human, technical, environmental and organisational factors
that contributed in order to prevent similar incidents in the
future.
Alpine can facilitate a comprehensive investigation using root cause analysis to identify the causal factors and corrective actions required to prevent recurrence.
While
it is important to investigate and learn from incidents, foresight
is obviously preferable to hindsight in the prevention of workplace
injuries and illnesses. Alpine OH&S Consulting
can facilitate hazard specific risk assessments, e.g. plant and
equipment, hazardous substances, manual handling, or work task
specific risk assessments, e.g. Job Safety Analysis (JSA). We
can also train and coach your staff to conduct effective risk
assessments through critical analysis of work processes, the
workplace and people’s behaviours to identify what could go wrong,
understand the risk factors that cause workplace injury and illness
and then develop effective defences.
OH&S legislation requires that employers adopt a ‘systematic’ approach to managing safety.
Alpine OH&S Consulting can develop, in consultation with your executive, managers and employees, a tailored, user friendly and effective OHSMS that includes OH&S policies, standards and procedures that address;
